As Mr. Holley explains, "When I was a kid, I wanted to make movies. I designed this camp to help kids like I once was learn everything you need to know to study and start making films when you are young! Based on my experience in Film School, this full-day, three-week Film School is a 'movie boot camp', where we will learn film history (early films as examples of great filmmaking), screenwriting, (writing your script), production (filming your movie), and editing (finishing your movie). It will be hard work, but if you dream of making movies, then this camp is meant for you! (I wish something like it had existed when I was a kid!)" Instructor: Lamar Holley

NATURE NINJAS / FULL DAY
Calling all nature lovers! Be a superhero for our local environment along the Wasatch Front! Join us as we explore trails, creeks, the foothills, and mountains, learning secret skills to protect and improve our natural spaces. Master 'Leave No Trace' (as only a true Ninja can!), make a difference collecting cool data to help scientists, and head out with local partners for excellent explorations! Journeys is what happens when you extend Adventures across an entire day. All the fun and exploration get supersized with experiences that simply can't fit inside of a half day. Whether we stay close to home to immerse ourselves in an experience or drive an hour into the mountains to picnic by a cool lake, we'll be on the road to fun with friends. BOOK ARTS / AM
Come learn the basics of book arts and book binding! Expand your own definition of "What is a book?" .... Both functional object and an art form, discover this art by making a variety of book structures which will include many of the following: Single sheet folded books, pamphlet stitch books, stick spine books, accordion books, or long stitch. DANCE EXPLORATION & MOVEMENT / AM
Come start your day with some movement and dance. Every day we will get our bodies warmed up, moving, and stretched, explore different styles of dance, learn combinations, play fun dance games, and create movement as individuals, and as a group! Please bring a water bottle and some comfortable clothes to move in. Instructor: Kendall Henderson

PAPERWORKS & IMAGE TRANSFERS / AM
Play with Paper and see what unfolds! We'll create paper clay, work with papier mâché, paper sculptures, some collage, as well as working with image transfers using essential oils, packing tape and more! Get your hands busy with this incredibly diverse material and see what works you'll be excited to share with others.

Take off for fun activities every afternoon! This off-shoot of our ever-popular after school group has led to a fantastic sampler of ideas for us this summer. Past outings have included a smash room, trying our hand at rock climbing, heading to the mountains, horsing around a nearby stable, volunteer work with baby goats (Goat Yoga anyone?), and making something amazing in a maker space -- we are up for unique adventures every time as intrepid explorers this summer! We travel in small groups, like to be outside and active, and leave the world better than we found it wherever we go. Do you love to solve puzzles, riddles, ciphers, mysteries and logic problems? Do you have sharp mind, a good memory, and a keen sense of observation? Join us at Codebreakers Club for games, stories, puzzles, riddles, and a bit of art. Solve short mysteries, share riddles, and put your memory to the test. Design your own cipher wheel. Create secret messages for others to solve and decode hidden messages others create. Instructor: Marti Olsen

INTRO TO CODING / PM
Do you ever wonder how your favorite website was created and what coding even is? In Intro To Coding we will start to scratch the surface and learn how to build and create a basic landing page using HTML and CSS! Come show your creativity while also getting technical! Instructor: Kendall Henderson

PHOTOGRAPHY / PM
What makes a good photograph? Discover how to take better photos as you explore the everyday world together. We'll cover composition, editing, a bit of science and history, too. Learn the technical rules of photography, and also how to break them. Campers will create, edit, & share a collection of images. Personal digital cameras and/or phones are encouraged, with a few point & shoot cameras available for check out. Your camera is a tool for creativity, documentation, well-being and so much more! STAGE MAKE-UP / PM
Our faces are the canvas and make-up is the medium -- come have fun transforming each other into new characters and animals. Fun and funky styles & design work will top off our creations, keeping in mind where you will take these new looks -- work toward the stage, experiment with techniques for film, or depending upon the group -- just for the fun of it! YOU GOAT THIS! is offering a relaxed time to hang out, chat, or continue with self directed games & sports at the school. Start or end your day from 7:45 - 9:00 am & 3:30 - 5:15 pm to supplement camp time through the month of June. Camp is always more fun with friends, so spread the word! Pickup at SLArts. Cost is $90/wk
