Want to boost your creativity? Want to learn a new way to generate ideas?
Come join Ms. Elizabeth to explore endless creative ideas in painting, poetry, sculpture, music, and movement. Ms Elizabeth has just completed a teacher training for an art curriculum called Consenses.

FILM HISTORY,  Volume One
Do you love movies? Do you believe moving pictures on-screen are some of the best ways to tell a great story? Students will watch some of the earliest and greatest films from many classic genres including silent films, westerns, and suspense! Discover which modern movie elements were pioneered in the past and learn to appreciate the rich history of moviemaking! Mr. Holley brings his Film School experience and early college background in Film History and Film-making.

DRAMA IMPROV     
Imaginative theater games will have you on your feet, spouting adjectives, telling stories, and defining the essential 4 W's -- the What, Why, Where, and Who necessary to every scene and story. We'll tell group stories, incorporate our senses into each scene, and listen & learn to work as a dynamic team. Learn some of the basic games that led to Second City and SNL. Improvisation builds trust and confidence in a fun, supportive manner. Trust yourself, improve your public speaking, and best of all share tons of laughs!

JAM BAND
For INTERMEDIATE or Advanced GUITAR students who have been developing their skills during the Fall Semester or years prior, this is not only a continuation into the fundamentals of playing guitar, instruction includes extending and exploring technique, greater fluency reading notes & tabs, and playing new and interesting chords. Many styles and genres are explored! Find the fun in the fluency of jamming together!
Limited to 10 students.  Instructor: Glenn Livengood

YEARBOOK CLUB
Help design and create the 2020 SLArts Yearbook! Choose original artwork from among hundreds of student pieces, organize layout and different sections, take & edit photographs, and research to find fun facts to make this the best yearbook yet! Instructor: Henry Miller
~ ALL Grades / $100 for Term 3 and approximately half of term 2 (when Yearbook is completed for printing)

HOMEWORK HALL   
Need a chance to get your homework done before your busy afternoon and evening activities? Students focus on their work or silent reading in a quiet, supervised “study hall.” Sign up for one day or more, depending upon your needs. Homework Hall continues all year long, but registration occurs per term to allow for flexibility in students’ changing after school schedules. Homework Hall is offered Monday through Thursday.

EXTENDED DAY 
Down time AFTER our language, enrichment, or academic support classes. Different than Homework Hall, this is a time for socializing, games, and just hanging out until parent or pick-up arrives. If your child does not head out by themselves for the bus, biking, walking, carpool or TRAX, this is a great option AFTER our other AFTER SCHOOL offerings.
