The following classes are designed primarily for MIDDLE SCHOOL ages, approximately 10-14 yrs. Class sizes are limited!

BOWLING LEAGUE:  Off-Site / Bonwood Bowl 

8 afternoons on Tuesday & Thursdays / 1:00-3:00 PM  

June 23/25, June 30/July 2, July 7/9, July 14/16

Hit the lanes, develop your skills, UP your game! Who will be the Kingpin by the end of the summer? Bonwood Bowl has the lanes, shoe rental, and at least three games for each fun-filled afternoon. Learn a sport you can enjoy for a lifetime! *Masks, social distancing, and best practices for students & Instructor's health are the expectation for everyone. Instructor: Dan Armstrong

6 mornings on Thursdays / 9:00-10:00 AM  June 25, July 2, 7, 9, 16, 23

Students will play a variety of drama games using the Zoom format. Examples include Mad Libs, Pass the Word, Charades, Scavenger Hunt, Guess the Sounds, and Where In the World? Join your favorite Queen of Drama teachers and meet up with others to play and connect online this summer! Maximum 10 students. Instructor: Holly Winn

6 mornings on Thursdays / 11:00-Noon June 25, July 2, 7, 9, 16, 23

Weekly plays and monologues will be performed. Each week a new script allows students to practice expressions and vocalizations. We will explore comedies, folk tales, drama, and even a spooky tale or two. There will also be time to work on monologues. Some examples of our scripts include Jabberwocky, Super Hero Rejects, Rapunzel, and Robin Hood! Maximum 10 students. Instructor: Holly Winn

8 mornings on Mondays & Wednesdays in July / 11:00-Noon July 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29

Help solve real-life problems using large math concepts in interesting situations. For each session we will watch a short, engaging video the presents the challenge. Our instructor provides key information to analyze the problem, and then students work in teams to figure out their approach to the problem and how to solve it. This fun, interactive class provides many opportunities for talking about math concepts, solving problems with friends, and growing with a math mindset. Sessions include: 'Cubicle Dudes', 'Shipping Shenanigans', 'How Much Hay?', and 'The Horse Doctor'. Instructor: Norma Iglesias

These lessons will be based on Classical training to build strength and flexibility while also exploring musical concepts that are universal from Classical/Baroque to Romantic, Impressionistic and modern --- some jazz, rock, pop, Celtic, and fusion. Let's have fun making music and learning wonderful ways to communicate and express ourselves! Instructor: Corinne Cummings



6 Monday morning runs (1 hr), +6 optional morning runs (1 hr), Fridays for Zoom check-in (<30 min) / 9:00 AM  

Begins June 26 with 30 min zoom meeting to establish goals. (NO meeting JULY 3), continues through mid-July (ends 6 weeks from start)

Run with your friends around Salt Lake City's parks and trails! Train for a race, or run just for fun. All levels are welcome. Tell your friends! Weekly check-in and goals meeting via Zoom. One weekly group run at various locations around the city. An optional second run each week is also on the schedule, depending upon interest. Instructor: Jeremy Theriot (Mr. T)

Dive into the importance, challenges, and joys of journalism in the world today! Students who are excited about sharing news stories, interviews, movie or tv reviews, creative writing, photography, poetry, or even recipes will enjoy being part of this team of writers & editors. Learn by rolling up your sleeves and writing it! Instructor: Corinne Cummings

Murder Mysteries / Escape Rooms

Students will collaborate via Zoom to solve mysteries and escape complex rooms!


Write Your Own Novel!

Students will receive valuable planning pages to help them create the key ingredients of a novel. Meet with Mr. Holley and each other to try out ideas and receive feedback and support toward meeting your writing goals.


Recording Studio

Learn how to create, record, and produce your own songs using an online multi-track recording platform


Make a Lip Sync Video  urder Mysteries / Escape Rooms

Learn how to take a lip sync idea and turn it into a finished video with multiple people and multiple shots. Work with friends and family to make a video project for fun and great memories!


Let's Make a Movie! An Adventure in all aspects of film-making!

As a former film student and graduate of Dov Simens' 2-Day Film School, Mr. Holley will lead students in writing, shooting, and editing a short movie! Students will also participate as actors. (Much of this will be done remotely through Zoom, other aspects may be done on location, but meetings as a group will depend upon current health guidelines and parents' preferences.)
