Introduction

I am so excited to be returning to Salt Lake Arts Academy this year!

I grew up moving all over the west coast between Washington and California. It feels great to have finally planted deep roots in Salt Lake City for nearly 20 years. I have a wide range of special education teaching experience. I have been a special education paraprofessional, an elementary resource teacher, a mild/moderate self-contained classroom teacher, and a district level special education consultant.

My current position as Special Education Director is a great combination of my work experience and skill sets.  I am a passionate defender of student rights. I believe strongly in Carol Dweck's "power of yet" and that "becoming is better than being".   My continued goal is to create an environment where your child feels seen and heard.

At home I am supported by a loving husband, our two children, and two small dogs. Live music, traveling, and being silly with my family are some of my favorite things on this planet.  I always have a puzzle in the works on my coffee table and at least three books by the side of my bed.

I look forward to connecting with you at SLArts!
