SLArts New Student Orientation Morning

Route 9 Practice Ride

• Depart from Greenwood Terrace / Sunnyside Ave. (SB): 8:16–8:28 a.m. (or 8:01–8:13 a.m.)
• Return from 900 South / 200 East (EB): 10:45–10:56 a.m.

Parent Stefanie Musy-Verdel came up with a creative way to combine learning and fun for incoming 5th graders interested in learning how to ride UTA.

The plan is to ride Route 9 to and from SLArts for New Student Orientation, then take a short five-minute walk to Miller Bird Refuge to explore the trails together.

This activity is especially convenient for families who live near Sunnyside Park. Families who live farther away can also join by riding Route 9 from SLArts after orientation and meeting the group for the nature walk before returning to 900 South / 200 East via UTA.

More details will be provided in an email to incoming 5th Grade parent/guardians as the date approaches.

Organized by our 5th Grade Community Connectors — a group of parent volunteers who have created these opportunities for students and families to connect before the school year begins in August.
