Salt Lake Arts Academy offers a rigorous and engaging middle school program for 5th - 8th Grade, where in addition to Math, Science and Humanities, every student experiences at least one hour of arts education, every day of the school year.
Our community is diverse and close-knit, despite coming from more than 33 zip codes throughout our valley. We are bound by our shared values of the importance of the arts in education, and our commitment to seeing young people thrive through the difficult years of adolescence. At SLArts we build a sense of belonging in each of our students, to protect and support them as they move into their teenage years.
The best way to see what SLArts is all about is to visit us! We host multiple Admissions Information Nights in the Fall and Winter, before our Admissions Lottery in February.
We also hold weekly tours on Thursday mornings beginning in November. To schedule a tour, please call the office at 801-531-1131.
See our plans to transform our outdoor spaces into welcoming places for learning, performance, and play. This outdoor improvement project reflects a bold vision to spark creativity, connection, and community across our campus. Improvements will be completed in phases beginning in fall 2025, with fundraising underway to help bring this vision to life.
Mark your calendars for April 23 — our annual SLArts Day of Giving — when our community comes together for 24 hours of connection, generosity, and support for our school.
Each week offers flexible options to fit your schedule — full-day, half-day, mix-and-match, or even extended day if you need it. With a wide range of camps running throughout June, there’s something for every interest: music, fiber arts, biking, theater, film, stage makeup, dance, and more. From Glass Art to D&D, plus special opportunities with guest artist Benjamin Childress, the possibilities are endless. With 45+ camps to choose from, grab a friend (no need to be a SLArts student!) and come discover what your summer could look like.
With measles cases reported in Salt Lake County, families should be aware of symptoms, school health guidelines, and steps to take to help protect students and the school community.
SLArts is sharing guidance and expert-backed resources to help families navigate conversations about online safety and potential exposure to pornography in a supportive, age-appropriate way.
We are excited to welcome Liz Behrens to the SLArts staff, where she will join Amy Mautz in supporting students and families as part of our School Social Work and Counseling team.
