Thank you for your patience as we posted all the After School classes for Term 4! Everything is up and ready for the kids to register!
We have some exciting new additions, such as Girls Flag Football, Earth Art Exploration, and Game Day Wednesday And, our fingers are crossed regarding a shorter Glass Art Workshop later in the spring. Please follow the link for all the details for each day, including varying starting or ending dates. See Term FOUR choices »
In addition, we have an intriguing opportunity about an AFTER- After School art experience for the entire family:
The Salt Lake Arts Council and Salt Lake Mayor's Office won an award from Bloomberg Philanthropies | Public Art Challenge to showcase temporary art installations for their WAKE THE GREAT SALT LAKE project; the capstone is the arrival of internationally renowned artist, OLAFUR ELIASSON and a commission called "A symphony of disappearing sounds of Great Salt Lake." This art experience is open to the public March 26 to April 4 after dark, in City Creek at Memory Grove. This is a FREE EVENT! »
What an incredible way to extend the theme of our own SLArt's student performances in "Stories from the Great Salt Lake", which takes place Thursday, March 26. Get Free Tickets »
I hope we can support our amazing students, and later in the coming week, consider this idea when Eliasson says, "Art doesn't stop where the real world starts ... I really think we need to find a way to create solutions like science has presented solutions to us. Art as a civic muscle actually has something to offer."

From the Salt Lake Arts Council:
Eliasson is internationally known for public installations that reshape how we perceive our environments. His major works include The weather project (Tate Modern, 2003) and The New York City Waterfalls (2008). He has also used art to address climate change, notably Ice Watch, which brought melting glacial ice to Copenhagen, Paris, and London. For the 2020 German EU Presidency, he created Earth Speakr with children worldwide. In 2024, he debuted Lifeworld on public screens in Piccadilly Circus, Times Square, and Seoul, presenting blurred sequences that contrasted with the surrounding cityscapes. See Eliasson's artwork »
I hope to see you at the art installation experience available in our fair city before it is gone for good. For more information, visit wakegsl.org or follow the project on Instagram @wakegsl
