Welcome Back! What You Need to Know for the 2026-27 School Year

Welcome Back to School, SLArts Families!

The 2026-27 school year is nearly here, and attached below is everything you need for a smooth start. You'll find pdfs of the "Welcome Back" sheet along with our "What You Need to Know: from A–Z" guide. Here are the highlights.

New students and 5th graders

Join our Welcome Morning on Monday, August 17, 8:30–10:30 am, to visit classrooms, meet teachers and classmates, and get familiar with their schedules. Parents are welcome to stay for coffee on the north field.

First day of school

The first day for all students is Tuesday, August 18, 8:15 am–3 pm. Regular hours are 8:15 am–3 pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:15 am–12:35 pm on Fridays and short days. Please arrive between 8 and 8:15 am and wait on the north field until the bell.

Back-to-School Nights

  • 5th grade on August 20, 6–7:30 pm (parents/guardians only)
  • 6th–8th grades on August 25, 6–7:30 pm (parents/guardians only)

After School Program Registration is Open!

Classes begin August 24 — students must register before the first day of school to start specialty classes on time. Register now »

Did You Miss In-Person Registration on August 6?

Make-up registration is available August 10–12 and August 14, 9 am–1 pm. Stop by to pick up student schedules and locker assignments, collect UTA/TRAX passes, turn in any remaining paperwork, and receive annual fee statements. Fee waivers are available — contact Business Manager Nicole Laird at [email protected].

One important reminder!

All 7th graders need Tdap and Meningococcal immunizations before school starts, and new students and 5th graders need a birth certificate and immunization record on file (if you haven't already provided to Registrar Jen Guillory, please send documentation to [email protected].
