Denny Jo Rowe, Dance Teacher
Denny Jo Rowe – Dance Instructor
Hi, I’m Denny Jo Rowe, and I’m so happy to be teaching dance here at Salt Lake Arts Academy! This is my 5th year at SLArts, and my 25th year of teaching overall. Over the years I’ve taught many styles, but I especially love working with jazz and contemporary dance, and helping students find their own creative voice through choreography.
In my classes, we focus on building strong technique while also exploring the connection between mind, body, and breath. More than anything, I want students to feel comfortable moving, creating, performing, and supporting one another as part of our dance community. Watching students grow in confidence—whether they’re trying a new step, performing on stage, or leading their peers—is one of the best parts of my job.
Outside of school, I love getting my hands in the dirt in my garden, hiking and exploring, traveling and spending time with my family. I’m a huge fan of live music and theatre, and if you put on a good playlist, I’ll probably end up dancing in the kitchen! I also love cooking, thrift shopping for quirky treasures, and quiet mornings with a good cup of tea and yoga in my garden.
I’m excited for another great year of dancing, performing, and creating with our wonderful SLArts community!
