Students, GSAs, and allies are invited to the Utah Queer Film Festival’s Youth Programming on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 9:30 AM at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. This special morning event offers youth-centered films and performances in a safe, affirming space where queer youth can connect, feel seen, and be inspired. The Parent Portal is a one-stop resource for families in the public education system, offering information on assessments, school meals, fees and waivers, online learning, parent rights, student success guides, CTE programs, and more. The Utah State Board of Education’s Every Day Counts campaign highlights the importance of regular school attendance and works to reduce chronic absenteeism across Utah. Nearly 1 in 5 students statewide miss 10% or more of the school year—about 18 days—which adds up to nearly a month of lost learning. These absences, whether excused or unexcused, can affect academic progress, friendships, social skills, and a student’s chances of graduating on time.

 

Regular attendance helps students build strong relationships with teachers and peers, stay engaged in learning, and develop habits for lifelong success. The Every Day Counts campaign provides resources for families, educator training, and partnerships to address barriers like transportation and mental health challenges.
