TERM 3 clubs wrapping up later this month .... Term FOUR clubs & classes will be posted and open for registration soon!
   Here are the latest updates: 
 
  • During the WEEK OF STUDENT LED CONFERENCES, we only have After School on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday for most classes. There is NO PROGRAM ON WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY, MARCH 11 and 12. The only students allowed in the building will be those with their parents and caregivers, immediately before and after their conferences. Please make other arrangements for after school outside of SLArts on those days. And enjoy those incredible portfolios your kids will be showing off!
 
  • GERMAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE REMINDER: University of Utah German class has only five more meeting times left for the year --- February 27, March 20 & 27, and April 17. Please note that there is no class during the University of Utah spring break (March 6 - 15). Other activities can be available for students who need to be in the after school program after the last Friday meeting.
 
  • During MONDAYS & WEDNESDAYS  join other students eager to expand their MATHEMATICAL abilities! Former Math teacher, Ann Simms, has a capacity to have students thinking about math problem-solving in new and compelling ways. Kids find their edge and start to feel the excitement of knowing where they want to engage in math, so the challenges become curiosity. Please contact Kathleen Smith at  [email protected]  to sign up or if you have any questions. This is offered at no cost to parents.
 
  • CREATIVE MOVEMENT EXPLORATIONS with Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company is looking forward to having our dancers showcase their choreography and all the hard work they are putting in this winter and spring!

 

WHAT WE DO:  The Salt Lake Arts Academy offers a robust, enriching, and just plain FUN After School program with over 30 clubs & classes running each week! We have so much to choose from, the hardest part will be picking out which thing to do. We're thrilled you'll be joining us this year!

 

OUR ROUTINE:  At the end of the school day (3:00 pm M-TH, or 12:35 pm FRI), students head to the north field where they hop in line to CHECK-IN, choose a snack, and hang out in the courtyard until our teachers & instructors come outside to gather their groups. Sessions typically run from 3:15 to 4:15 pm, with some lasting up to 5:15 pm. Please make a note of the ending time of your child's enrolled class(es); While most are only an hour, plenty of them are 75 min, 90 min, or up to two hours.

 

We also offer an Extended Day option for later pickups, Monday to Thursday, ending at 5:30 pm. Please note that students must be enrolled in a class or club for at least one hour before joining Extended Day. Once a class ends (at 4:15, 4:30, etc.) we meet outside for free time until rides arrive for pick-up. On Fridays, classes run for two hours and end at 3:00 pm, with no extensions after 3:00 pm.

 

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

  • For safety, all after school students are expected to remain on school grounds from the end of the school day at 3:00 pm to the time when their after school class begins at 3:15 pm. ~ If a student leaves the premises during the transition time between school and the after school program, parents will be notified if this expectation gets ignored or repeated. We appreciate your understanding as we ensure the safety and supervision of all students.
  • While this is a fee-based program, we do offer financial assistance & scholarships for eligible families. PDF forms are attached below.
  • There is  NO Extended Day after 3:00 pm on Friday
  • Please be aware of our discipline policy on the Dismissal / Pick-Up Policy page. 
  • Your receipt for any registered after school class is sent in an email from CORE Payment Systems at the time of registration. This is your confirmation of enrollment.
