The Salt Lake Arts Academy Governing Board believes that all children in Utah have the right to a free public education, regardless of their or their parents’ actual or perceived national origin, citizenship or immigrant status.
The Governing Board is committed to ensuring that Salt Lake Arts Academy is a welcoming place for all students and families, where students are able to focus on their education, be secure in knowing that Salt Lake Arts Academy will support their safety and emotional well-being, regardless of immigration status, ethnicity, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender or gender expression.
Salt Lake Arts Academy does not collect information regarding immigration status of a student or a student’s parents as part of the admissions process. Salt Lake Arts Academy staff are instructed to immediately contact the Principal upon receipt of any request by a federal, state or local agent or officer attempting to enforce federal immigration laws or seeking information about our students. No request shall be granted and no Student Information released until it has been reviewed by the Principal and Governing Board chair, and the Governing Board’s legal counsel.
