Ms. Bayles 7/8 Humanities

Welcome to Humanities! I have been teaching Humanities at Salt Lake Arts Academy since 2005. In fact, I am a fourth generation educator! I have always had a passion for learning, especially history. While at the Arts Academy I have taught every grade level and content ranging from ancient civilizations to modern times. I am currently a 7-8 Humanities teacher focusing on US History from colonization to today.

I am a graduate of the University of Utah in History Teaching and English as a Second Language. I earned my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University. My educational experience includes community college, state, and online universities, and studying abroad. All these experiences have deepened my knowledge of the world and strengthen my belief in an easily accessible, quality education for all.

When not in the classroom I enjoy hiking, running, reading, snowshoeing, and projects. I have a wonderful husband, two delightful sons, and a sassy dog.

I am looking forward to an exciting year!
